Taking Shape - Part 5

It's been a couple of weeks since our last visit to the site. Luckily they got the house water tight - roof on and walls up before the rain started. Most of the siding is in place now, they need to paint it when the weather is good. After the outside is painted the stone work will be done. The front porch, back deck and screen room have been framed and will be completed with a decking material called "Batu". It looks and feels alot like mahogany. The rough electrical and plumbing are in. We're waiting for inspections before completing that and moving forward. The windows and exterior doors are in. The crew is now of Christmas holiday. Taking Shape - Part 4

We haven't been out to the property for a few weeks. The holiday season is keeping us busy. The builders have been busy as well. All the windows are in. The front porch and rear deck have been framed. The siding is going up. We can hardly wait for it to be finished.

Taking shape - Part 3

Well it's been a week since we were at the property. All of the roofing tiles ( 40 year composition ) are on. They are making sure all the rain gutters are clear of junk - they will be installing a mesh over the gutters to stop leaves and pine needles and anything else from getting in and clogging them. The dormers are in and add a nice touch to the roof line. The house is pretty much enclosed now - just before winter weather sets in. They will work on the outside when weather permits and on the inside the rest of the time. A lot has been done to this point but it is still probably 3 months away from completion.

Taking shape - part 3

It's only been a week since we were at the property this time. The builder is keeping the pace and quality constant. The house is now wrapped with the weather protection system "TYPAR", check out the specs:
